How Do You Put Up Wallpaper?
Installing our peel-and-stick wallpaper is a simple process, but following the right steps will help ensure a smooth, professional finish. At Big Media Printing in St. Paul, we want your project to look its best, so here’s a step-by-step guide for putting up our adhesive-backed wallpaper.
Step 1: Prepare Your Wall
Before applying wallpaper, always wipe down the wall with a clean, dry cloth. This removes dust and debris so that the adhesive can stick firmly. A clean surface makes a huge difference in how long your wallpaper will last.
Step 2: Position the Wallpaper
Hold the wallpaper panel against the wall and use masking tape to secure it temporarily in place. This helps you align the design before you commit to sticking it down.
Step 3: Remove the Backing Liner
Peel back a small section of the removable liner from the top of the wallpaper. Press the exposed sticky section onto the wall, starting at the top, and use your hand to gently wave and smooth the material into place.
Step 4: Apply and Smooth
Continue peeling away the liner bit by bit while pressing the wallpaper onto the wall. Use your hand or a soft cloth to smooth it as you go, working out any air bubbles.
Step 5: Fix Wrinkles or Misalignment
If you notice a wrinkle, carefully pull the wallpaper away from the wall and reapply that section. Our adhesive is forgiving, but take care not to let the sticky side fold into itself. If the vinyl sticks to itself, it can be very difficult to separate.
Final Tips
Always apply in sections for more control.
Use masking tape to check your alignment before fully applying.
Keep the sticky side clean and avoid touching it too much.
By following these steps, your custom peel-and-stick wallpaper will look seamless, vibrant, and professional on your walls.
